Cambridge Symphonic Winds under the baton of Richard Hull are to open their next concert with Nigel’s energetic overture`Breaking the Century’. The concert will be held in St. Giles Church, Cambridge on 16 October at 7.30pm. Other composer featured in the concert will be Philip Sparke, Eric Whitacre, David Bedford, Kenneth Hesketh, Gustav Holst and Johan de Meij.

Founded in 2008, Cambridge Symphonic Winds is one of the newest ensembles. A symphonic wind orchestra brings together the vibrant and diverse sounds of over forty different woodwind, brass and percussion instruments to fantastic effect. The group aims to stage first class concerts featuring the very best works for this kind of ensemble, creating a unique musical experience for listeners from Cambridge and beyond.

The concert on 16th October will see the third  work by Nigel Clarke performed by this talented group of musicians since their formation in 2008.
